A historical novel detailing the intellectual journey of Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali in an engaging manner, starting from his early childhood in a village near the city of Tus in northeastern Iran, his travels to seek knowledge and sciences in Gorgan and Nishapur, and other Islamic world centers in the east, through his youth and rise in stature, and the debates and discussions between him and the poet Omar Khayyam about the meaning of life, his relationship with the important figure Nizam al-Mulk and his son, his embassy between Malik-Shah and the Abbasid Caliph al-Muqtadi bi-Amr Allah in Baghdad, as well as the political and military events and social issues he experienced in the corridors of palaces and the courts of kings and caliphs, and the intellectual transformations that accompanied him in Baghdad, Damascus, Mecca, Medina, and Alexandria, and the conclusion of his life with his famous book "Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din" (The Revival of the Religious Sciences), and then his return to his birthplace where his first journey began.
