Indeed, the student of "the science of wisdom" and the one familiar with the curricula of scientific schools knows that most scientific schools and institutes begin the study of "the science of wisdom" for students with the text of "Imam Atheer al-Din Al-Abhari", titled "Al-Hidaya", exclusively. This is because the commentaries delve into subtleties that drown the student in a sea of issues, details, and discussions, and he is not prepared for them at this stage with a clear mind.

When the interest of scientific schools and institutes in "the science of wisdom" weakened, and "the science of wisdom" became alien among students; Sheikh Abu Muhammad Seed al-Kuti al-Malibari al-Wailturi al-Qadiri al-Shafi'i al-Ash'ari abbreviated the issues of the physics and metaphysics sections from the text of "Al-Hidaya" into a text he called: "Tadarak al-Ghayah bi Khulasat al-Hidaya" (Rectifying the Error with the Essence of Guidance), and he wrote a commentary on it which he called: "Tahreek al-Raghbah ila al-Hikmah min al-Talabah" (Stirring Desire for Wisdom among Students).

When the book became widespread and famous, some scientific schools adopted it for students to study before studying the text of "Al-Hidaya" by Imam Atheer al-Din Al-Abhari. After examining the book, we found that it fills a gap for students at the initial stage; so we served the text and its commentary in a manner befitting them.

The student of this art knows that it is good for students to study this book after the book "Mabadi' al-Falsafah" (Principles of Philosophy) by the scholar Sheikh Saeed Ahmad al-Balunpuri - may Allah have mercy on him. And praise be to Allah who also enabled Dr. Muhammad al-Muhammadi to serve it previously, and by the grace of Allah, it received acceptance and approval in academic circles. We ask Allah Almighty to benefit the students with our new work and to grant it acceptance, just as He benefited with its original and granted it acceptance. Indeed, He is the guardian of that and capable of it.

And Allah - glorified be He - has enabled Dr. Muhammad al-Muhammadi and Brother Abd al-Fattah Abd al-Fattah Rida al-Azhari to work on this book and exert effort in it, and to try to simplify the book through its presentation method with headings and numbering. This textbook has been served in a way that pleases Allah Almighty first and the students of knowledge second.
